Because of my allergies (fruit and milk) I didn’t learn to eat a lot of healthy food. Besides bread and dinner my mom used to give me unhealthy things such as chips. From most other food I got a rash. This became a habit and that’s why I started to eat quite unhealthy in general. Even when I got over my allergies I still ate unhealthy because I was used to it.
In high school I became more aware of my body, which was kind of chubby at the time. I didn’t know how I could change it. Because of this insecure feeling I became an emotional eater. I ate away my feelings. I followed a lot of diets and lost weight but that were always quick fixes. In my last relationship I gained a lot of weight, I felt horrible about myself. My relationship came to an end in January this year and that was the moment I decided something had to change. I went online and searched for information about nutrition. I even got a gym membership. Every week I felt more fit and confident about myself.
I found Lisa’s account on Instagram and started using her Slimming Body Guide because I needed more structure. I use Instagram a lot for inspiration and to keep myself motivated. I still have a long way to go but I am proud of what I have achieved so far and I am finally happy with myself. That’s what keeps me going. It’s totally worth it. I am happy that I can work out and learn delicious healthy recipes.
I lost 10 kilos since I started, but I don’t like to weigh myself. Instead I prefer to look at myself in the mirror and focus on how I feel. I also try to motivate the people around me to live a healthier life. I love how eating healthy and working out make me feel. And of course I also enjoy unhealthy things every once in a while (chocolate <3). A healthy body is a healthy spirit :).
