The right mindset to lose weight

When I started my new lifestyle towards a healthy body I came to the realization that  losing weight isn´t necessarily just about food and exercising. Of course, the things you put in your mouth certainly have an effect on your weight (unfortunately lol) and if you work out you´ll get a leaner body. But it’s not all about that girls. To really maintain a healthy lifestyle of good eating and working out, you need to have the right mindset. Knowing your inner self and your beliefs will definitely help you to achieve your goals!!

Here are five important mindset changes that can help you achieve a healthy and happy you.

  1. Your weight doesn´t define you

Sometimes it seems that your weight is all that matters. You let the number on the scale determine how you feel about yourself. Remember that your weight is just a number sweeties. Your weight says NOTHING about the person you are. Remember that you´re beautiful just the way you are!! It’s not about that small dress size, the most important thing is that you’re happy with yourself and that you’re feeling healthy and happy in your own body. Love yourself and love your body girls!!

  1. Motivation comes from within

You need to be motivated to achieve a goal. If there is no genuine desire to get the best out of yourself and your beautiful body, there is only a small chance that you´ll succeed maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The best motivation comes from deep inside. You want to reach your goals because YOU want it, not because you compare yourself with those girls you find in magazines and online who seem to be perfect. No, you want to change your lifestyle because you want to make yourself feel better. Not because the outside world might like you better. No, because you will learn to love yourself more!

  1. Don´t blame your DNA

Maybe you´re from a family where most of your relatives are overweighed for generations long. And you grew up with the idea that, sooner or later, you will be to heavy as well. It´s soooo easy to blame your genes for those extra kilos. It’s in my DNA, you tell yourself, there´s nothing I can do about it, right?! Watch out girls, don´t become a victim of your own believes. Your genes are not determinative. And yes, it may be that your body is destined to carry on some extra fat, but do not use that as an excuse. Don´t become a victim of your own genes, but take your own responsibility by eating good and healthy food and take time to work out. Let’s fight that DNA! I know you can!!

  1. Your weight is just a symptom

Not always, but often there is a deeper cause for those extra kilos. Maybe you aren´t completely happy with yourself and you try to fill the emptiness with (bad) food. As a result, your body is out of balance and that will make you feel even unhappier. It´s such a shame, because the extra weight you will gain and that junk food won´t make you feel any happier. And then maybe you´ll overeat again to hide the unhappy feeling again. Time for a change girls! Try to recognize your emotions and then deal with the actual emotion. And by choosing healthy foods, you´ll also start to feel better! Love yourself and treat yourself with healthy and tasty food that will really do good for your body.

  1. Enjoy your journey to a healthy you

When you’ve started your new healthy lifestyle, you can get the feeling that it takes too long before you see the results you desire. Your weight is not getting less and you don´t see your body changing. Don´t worry!! Don´t be too hard on yourself by pushing yourself to unrealistic goals. And don´t punish yourself by, for example, going on starvation diets just to fit in that smaller size in no time again. Appreciate the body you have now and enjoy the journey to a more glowing and healthier you!
